Mayor DiBlasio Issues Statement on Omicron Variant

Just a short time ago, the New York City Mayor Bill DiBlasio issued a statement regarding the brand-new variant of the Covid-19 coronavirus. This variant is called the “Omicron Variant” and his statement is below.

Ken Pierce Media Thoughts: This is scary news because only a few short days ago was when the larger region of US folks only learned of the new variant but it was in Africa at the time and not here. Not only is it here but it was some weeks ago based on this report. Having attended this amazing convention I can say that it was crowded (which you can see in one of my Instagram photos down below). However, with that being said the crowd all had masks on unless they were eating or drinking. This was from my own observation of course so kudos to those who did right by the rest of the community at this event. To enter you had to have a valid vaccination proof and wear a mask. With the alarm being raised by our usually useless Mayor I say that I agree its a good idea to be tested just in case this individual came to the event already infected. My workaday world requires that I get tested 2x a week to be on the job so I’ve already had four tests since that convention and am okay. I’d love to know that all of our friends are okay as well. Stay healthy, maintain some distance, wear a mask and by all the powers that be please get vaccinated.

As previously broadcast over on the PiercingMetal website and shared here on the Ken Pierce Media archive, the New York Comic Con would return to being an in-person event for 2021. There was also a virtual component for those who couldn’t or wouldn’t brave the event based on the lay of the land at this time. Back in 2019, I revamped a popular post from “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” about convention essentials for the curious or diehard attendee. The thorough rundown was lauded by many as being quite useful and you can see that full narrative by clicking HERE. I was going to simply re-share said missive but as 2021 heads to its last quarter and the dreaded variants of the Coronavirus keep on keeping on, you now must be vaccinated to access many places and the New York Comic Con is no exception to this rule. Below are a couple of digital mechanisms to be aware of and then I will emphasize some of the things you really should be bringing along with you.

Ken Pierce Media’s Tumblr Turned “12” Today

Greetings my friends and welcome to a shiny new announcement that celebrates my creative worlds use of the Tumblr micro-blogging network. Earlier today I received an email that said that “Ken Pierce Media Turned 12 Today” and if you are one of the diehards who has been paying attention over the last few months you will know that this isn’t correct at all. As an idea, Ken Pierce Media is only one full year old but I have been using Tumblr for “12” years and began doing so for the PiercingMetal website and its assorted social networks. Back in the earliest days of this network it would allow a very streamlined integration of Twitter and Facebook so it was another means of reaching an audience which is never a bad thing to do.

AEG Presents to Require Proof of Full Vaccination for U.S. Concertgoers and Event Staff

The Press Release:
AEG Presents, a global leader in concerts and live events, announced today that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theatres, and festivals. The decision comes on the heels of the dramatic surge in Covid-19 cases as the Delta variant spreads throughout the United States. AEG Presents is either an owner or partner in such iconic venues and festivals as New York’s Webster Hall and Brooklyn Steel, The Roxy and El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, Firefly Music Festival, Day N Vegas, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Coachella Music & Arts Festival, among others.

The vaccination policy, limited only as required by law, will be in full effect nationwide no later than October 1, 2021. Several venues have already been following local government vaccination mandates, with others anticipated to come in the weeks leading up to October 1. The date was chosen specifically to allow time for any eligible unvaccinated ticketholders and staff to reach fully vaccinated status should they choose to do so. Leading up to October 1, AEG Presents will be implementing a policy of showing proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of show date where permitted.
