Last year I decided to share the year-end rundown from my participation in the Reddit Community and since the notification has just arrived about my past years activity I am doing so again. I’m not sure how many of you out there in the readership use this but I have found it helpful for a number of things that I am involved in as a creative. I still feel that I am kind of green to this one but have kept my participation tight for a few small areas that I hope will expand the reach of some of the other work I am doing online. That being said, here are the screen grabs of the rundown from this 2022 year. I hope you enjoy it.
For those who don’t know, Reddit is broken up into assorted Communities and I am really only participating in a choice handful of them. I have a few YouTube related ones, a Broadway one, a Metal one and some that are related to jobs and career. You see, while I am talking about this on the Ken Pierce Media site, my profile is a personal one at the end of the day. I will use this and refer to all of the websites if the topic is applicable and according to this next screenshot, my scolling amounted to the length of 3.2K bananas. That made me chuckle.
This next graphic shows that the time spent on the Reddit boards was enough to go to the moon 1.1 times. I Googled this and learned that it takes about three days to travel to the moon by spaceship and since I don’t have superpowers I guess that is how long I spent on Reddit over the course of the 2022 year.
Screenshot four shows me as being a real Reddit Fashionista. We all start with the “blank” little Avatar and over time we are permitted to jazz him up. This characters name is actually “Snoo”, he is an alien.
This shows my prime interests as being podcasts, literature and movies and while I like all three things I don’t agree with their being my main adventuring. As a writer I delve into so many things and was surprised it didn’t reflect better on Reddit.
This one was much more on point as I do spend a lot of times perusing communities that are related to these items. Well, maybe not “bad movies” but overall yeah…
This capture shows what topics I might like and it encourages you to click through and give them a chance. I’m not a fan of spoilers at all but I do like Marvel Studios and yeah musicals as well.
So I wouldn’t actually consider myself as being wholesome but I am definitely not a divisive sort and that is how they find me not choosing sides in things. There are people who come to services like this and only want to fight with people. I am here to contribute and them get back to editing one of the three websites.
YouTube Shorts are ALL the rage right now and this screenshot says that I returned to this post over and over. I think I was answering other people about a particular piece found in Shorts. The interested might want to examine my larger article about Shorts by clicking HERE.
This is surely a positive thing to see and good karma is never a bad thing. When you post something, the other Reddit members are able to either thumbs up or down to your comment or response to one. I have been fortunate enough to mostly receive the upvotes and like I said I am not here to argue and more just to help the creative process along.
This is where most of the kudos of Karma come from. I tend to live in this particular community as I am always looking for tricks and tips that will help me have a better YouTube for PiercingMetal, Piercing Ken and even Ken Pierce Media.
Seeing this as my Top Post of the Year was fun. I love the Five Points Festival but I am surprised that my bigger convention shows didn’t get similar love. Maybe the 2023 recap will find more going to New York Comic Con and Anime NYC.
The screenshot below appears to be my top comment. I guess that whatever I said got a lot of those aforementioned karmas that I spoke of.
The newest community areas I found myself checking out were these three. After working in Broadway during the height of the pandemic, I was very interested in the whole dynamic and of course any hints about YouTubing were up my alley as well. Star Wars is a given.
Generally speaking, Reddit isn’t about self-promotion unless the overall group mentions that this is what they are all about. This is why I joined those YouTube groups that I mentioned earlier. Two are more for the promotion while the other is all about tips and tricks. The core of my Reddit adventuring is spent here.
This screenshot was one of those interactive things where you would need to click the image and see the answer. I didn’t realize that I had a sacred Reddit ability so let’s see what the dice rolls leads to.
Hmmmm “Background Noise”. Not sure I like that but oh well.
Reddit is good at suggesting communities that you might enjoy and here are a few that they recommended at the end of the rundown.
Ken Pierce Media Thoughts: So there you have it, a nice little fun rundown of the goings on in this Community based on what I am doing here. Now I know this is not the normal course of things I am usually talking about here but as I mentioned this is a personal account that is tied to all of the Ken Pierce Media logistics. Since its not really a link sharing sort of thing I don’t see a lot of overall web traffic from it. I do have all of my main KPM Social Media linked to on my profile so those who might find me can see what this is all about. I honestly never know what my participation in the Reddit world is going to be like but I sure do welcome you to follow along with me if you know what we are up to on the assorted brands since the support always goes a long way. I’ll wrap this up now and say see you again soon.
