Hey there my friends, its time for me to take a moment out of the day to share some fun social media platform news with you all as it applies to this Ken Pierce Media outlet. By now you probably are fully aware of our presence on the TikTok platform because every time I hit an increment of “50” posts, I am making sure to reflect on the post and spotlight something else that I want you to see. Today I’m here to tell you that we just reached our second year of usage of this network. Back when I spoke about the first jump into TikTok it was with the reveal of the New York Comic Con press badge and while I was hoping that the timing would be in sync this year it was not. I’ve been approved for that convention for months but I am still waiting on the badge to be mailed out. This year there was a post made on the actual anniversary day and its from when I attended the TTPM Holiday Showcase. In this video I offer up a quick spotlight on some of the Playmates Toys products that were brought to the show. Our favorites from this company fall to the Godzilla X Kong stuff and of course the legendary Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Now that I’ve been using this platform for two years I can safely admit that I am only just a little better at it. I still don’t make any outlandish or garish visuals but I have learned how to add captions and have been told by others that this is a good thing. I don’t really know how this generates more traction on the platform but let’s see as time goes on. So I figured I’d add one more post to this because its very recent and also is something that I am doing a lot of writing about. The other day was “Batman Day” and DC Comics celebrates this usually on the third Saturday of September. Like Free Comic Book Day, a number of topical issues of the Caped Crusader are available for free at your local, participating comic book shop. This is our haul from the recent visit to Midtown Comics on Fulton Street and as you will see some purchases were made in addition to the freebies.

As you can see, I’ve been as steadfast as possible with this platform and while the notifications always advise me to make longer videos I have not done this yet. My rationale behind this is quite simple. Yes I can post longer TikToks and also longer Instagram Reels but YouTube Shorts remain at one minute or less and that is a network I am really hoping to build at this time. I will say that I’ve a couple of issues with the TikTok platform and that is the occasional throttling of a video for no apparent reason. I tend to get between 200-300 views out of the gate and sometimes see a video with 0 views for quite some time which means they didn’t share it to the general feed. I don’t post questionable content and really only seek to inspire you checking out things I’m fortunate to see. When his happens to a video I view of larger importance its discouraging. Some personal bugaboos about TikTok is the lack of showing how many videos a profile has posted like we see on Instagram and YouTube and also a total views accrued over the time online. YouTube shows full views and I think this helps creators that are building relationships. As I’ve gone on too long already let me wrap this up by saying thank you if you’ve been already following and engaging with us and welcome if you’re brand new to the program. Remember that clicking the heart helps as does making a video a favorite or sharing it along. I love seeing topical comments when they come in and do my best to answer them all.
