Ken Pierce Media Thoughts: While I don’t always get to posting about the music instrument industry, as a one-time very active drummer in the NYC music scene, I could not sit idly by when news about the Drum Workshop company joining the Roland Corporation. I’ve long been a fan of both sides of the fence but never owner any DW or Roland drums. I wanted them but at the time they were out of my price range. I opted for Ludwig drums for my playing time but I did end up owning a few of the awesome DW Pedals with a pair of the famed DW 5000 and eventually the double-pedal when carting around two bass drums based on the gig was just not logistically possible. That being said I am curious to see what comes of the union and think that drummers everywhere will be delighted. Closing up I wonder what you folks out there in the drummer section of the readership think about the news. I’d be interested in learning your thoughts and maybe I will post more stuff like this here going forward. Since instruments fall into both sides of the creative coin, I felt putting this news on KPM was the best move. Chime in down below if you’d like, I will see you again soon. Please stay safe out there.
