Ken Pierce Media’s Year End Overview For 2020

Okay so if you’ve been reading either my PiercingMetal or Piercing Ken websites for any length of time, you will probably recall that when the year is about to close or shortly into the new one if time causes a delay, that I like to do a website overview or reflection post. The question was whether or not to do one for this now six month old entity that I call Ken Pierce Media because it had a very weird launch and slow expansion. After mulling this over for a short time I decided that I would do one and now here we go into the year-end overview of the Ken Pierce Media website.

Back in June when this idea was first brought to internet life, I had created a simple Blogspot using this branding and the goal with that was to generate some modest cash during the pandemic since that had essentially taken numerous opportunities off the table for so many people. I figured that once I had a modest Blogger account I could do some freelance consulting and then the idea kept on expanding on me. I began entering any new content for PiercingMetal and Piercing Ken to the Blogspot with referral links back to the other sites. I would expand on the KPM notion by subsuming the Tumblr profile and then adding the Piercing Ken WordPress as an automatic feed along with the PiercingMetal one. I locked in a free WordPress account and right now I am unsure how I’d like to use it. Do I repeat the process being done over on the Blogspot or do I stop one for use of the WordPress. Truth be told, I prefer web-based publishing with WordPress over the bare bones abilities of the Blogger stuff. There is a lot to consider with this new idea and at the time of this writing I am not 100% sure how I’d like to use it. I secured a dotcom from GoDaddy.com and have pointed that domain over to the Tumblr but this might be temporary. Whatever I end up doing with this its all going to keep new attention coming in to the other two websites and that’s not a bad thing at all. I can say that those who have checked it out have felt this was an interesting new angle and let’s be honest, the branding of “Ken Pierce Media” sure does sound professional. Perhaps I will use that as a sort of a phantom company since I was originally intended on this being used for some consulting anyway. Now you might be saying why add all this extra work on stuff that is already time consuming and since so many things are auto-shared there isn’t much for me to do to make that happen. It’s definitely fun to build something from scratch once again and now let me take you through some of the initiatives that are being done on the social media side of the fence.

Social Networking: With the Ken Pierce Media branding being so very new in terms of social media, I’ve only just managed to get to creating a couple of the main and most important ones. One of the most obvious ones is the Tumblr account that I’ve had for almost a dozen years for PiercingMetal. KPM enacted a corporate takeover of that one and now its the Ken Pierce Media Tumblr. Don’t worry, as all of the content is still there to be enjoy and I also have a Twitter but sadly that medium has never worked for the other websites so it will surprise me if it works for this new idea. Another corporate takeover was done for a PiercingMetal Group on Facebook. This was an accidental creation and since I wasn’t able to delete it I did some emminent domain stuff on it and now the group falls under the KPM banner. I will be looking into a more official Fan Page soon because those are better for reach. A YouTube Channel will start having videos soon enough as the Channel exists as of a couple of weeks ago. I’ve also had a personal account for my TikTok that’s never been used and there is a Company Page on LinkedIn for PiercingMetal. I think I will look into repurposing them for KPM as soon as the New Year gets underway. The important thing about the social networks for a new branding is to secure all the main ones ASAP so you have them under your command straight away. Even if you don’t plan on using them all the time they will point to the dotcom or most used brand in your description. All that will equate to traffic.

Top 10 Countries: This listing wasn’t able to be quantified based on how the brand was initially built and how it progressed along until the end of the year. The Blogspot doesn’t show deep stats like those and I don’t think the Tumblr account would either because their statistics leave something to be desired. Once more posts are put into the WordPress side of things I should be able to see better statistics and can probably see the countries that are visiting the most. Stuff to anticipate talking about in next year’s overview right? I think that’s fine.

So that’s going to wrap it up for this first year’s overview and honestly, its more like a six-month overview with our launching in June. It’s been fun creating such a thing and even more so based on the continuing COVID-19 pandemic that has taken over so much of our lives. Speaking for me, I am not yet eligible to get the recently announced vaccine. As someone who is prone to getting things like bronchitis every few years I will be taking that dose when I am permitted to do so but I digress. Hopefully you found some of this background to your interest because I enjoy being able to bring you into the mix with me every so often. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to his the social media links down below and lend them some love. May your 2021 New Year start off healthy, happy and safe. Please be careful out there as we all continue to ride the storm. See you next time over here or on one or both of the other websites.
