Ken Pierce Media’s Cross-Brand Year End Overview For 2021

Greetings my friends, it seems as though its time to once again share one of those website overview narratives as we head away from 2021 into a hopefully much better 2022. While it was clear that 2020 was a very difficult year for everyone, there were only some measures of improvement over the course of 2021 but that would find some people thinking outside the box a little bit more and doing things that they never envisioned themselves doing. I’m speaking about work and keeping creative in very uncertain time for the most part. This leads me to share that instead of doing an overview on PiercingMetal and then on Piercing Ken I will now be briefing the readership audience right here because we now have another website to discuss in Ken Pierce Media as well. I will start with the place it all began and since this is the first time putting it all together this will be shorter than in previous years.

In April 2022 we will mark the seventeenth year of this entertainment websites online life and it will also achieve about 8K published posts at some point during the year. To say that this website has been doing its best to keep busy during precarious times would be an understatement. We barely took a day off in 2020 even when event after event after convention after convention were being cancelled and those are where I manage to get the most done. In 2021 many of the main items returned and we happily attended them and brought you into the mix with our stories and images. It was nice to see things happening again especially after so much cancellation and virtual events of so many kinds but I was not interested in being at everything and am not sure this will change for me mentally in 2022. Let’s see what happens. The content base thanks to the pandemic found more news coming than ever before and a whole lot more for the Pop Culture side of the fence. While in person events were at a halt still the publishing industry was still releasing and movies were being streamed which gave me a lot of things to post about. I’ve been calling PiercingMetal the site where Heavy Music and Pop Culture Collide for a while now anyway and that is manifesting more and more as the months go by. The activity on the social media accounts of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube remained constant over the year and while engagement while solid on each of these platforms it can always be better. If you like the vibe from this side of the fence we ask that you follow, subscribe and share. Site traffic was not much higher than the previous year but still reached something like 2.1 million pages viewed across the year.

In 2022 we will mark the twelfth year of this lifestyle websites online life and to say that the pandemic times hit this website a little harder than the PiercingMetal one would be an understatement. While I go to a number of concerts and conventions for the other site there are so many more lifestyle events going on in a year than you would believe so it was nice that some of them were coming back. Art shows, gifting shows and the famed NYC Hot Sauce Expo all came back but in a scaled back fashion. Big events like The New York Boat Show and the mega event of the New York International Auto Show were cancelled and those hit all lifestyle websites very hard. Despite this we kept publishing a lot in 2021 and upped the same kind of Pop Culture content and also the rescheduled tours for music that didn’t fall under the PiercingMetal branding. The loss of some major events in 2021 found less posting than was anticipated and hence less social media activity on this websites side. We still maintain presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, the latter which is still growing and only just over one year old despite the websites upcoming 12th Anniversary. If this lifestyle site is to your liking, I ask that you show your allegiance by supporting those social networks. Truth be told as we come more out of a pandemic time, the numbers behind you in social media are used as a gauge to your overall quality or brand impact. Site traffic for this brand was also positive but was just shy of 650K Pages Viewed for the year and the post count has just surpassed 1350. We hope to hit the 1.5K mark but this site historically posts less than that of PiercingMetal.com

2022 will mark the second year of this still-growing outlet’s online life and while started as a simple Blogspot to do some web consulting, it’s become something much larger since it launched. In the beginning it featured links to both PiercingMetal and Piercing Ken content from a set point in time. Once the WordPress was launched we imported all of the Tumblr content as it looked like that network was going to sunset. That upped the content considerably and we surpassed 5K posts within months based on the way it feeds from the two other websites and some of our branded social media profiles. This import was not without its own issues though as many items need to be “cleaned” up to look nice. During 2021 most of the single used social media profiles were repurposed to be Ken Pierce Media from PiercingMetal or Piercing Ken but some didn’t let the user be changed so they remain “as is” with the angle of KPM mentioned in the about section. KPM is using the major social media pages like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube being among the most important. Their use is less than the other websites based on how this is the editorial guiding hand but we’d still love readership support. The newest networks being TikTok and YouTube which I’d love to have expand the branding. Building this website from the ground floor has been interesting as its also being used as the Editorial Figurehead of the whole creative enchilada. Traffic has been strong and we’ve accrued more than 350K Pages Viewed for the past 2021 year. As more posts are cleaned to spec and having the tags work their magic across the Googlesphere this should only increase by leaps and bounds.

That wraps it up for the year-end overview and now that I’ve finished talking about the sites I have to say that I think I like doing it like this as opposed to a single narrative on each of the three websites. Doing this on KPM only expands upon the idea of keeping editorial that applies to the whole thing in play and continues to allow it to serve as the senior level managerial branch. We welcome any topical commentary in the comments section down below and the most important links to keep up with it all are down below as well. Thanks for the support and interest. We hope that 2022 will be a banner year for the creativity so let’s see what happens.
